About Jam Jah Sound

Jam Jah Sound is Friendly Fire Music‘s Live Soundsystem division, responsible for Europe’s longest-lasting weekly Reggae linkup since 2001, Jam Jah Mondays.

With Live MCs and percussion, Jam Jah Sound has been playing every single Monday in Birmingham with special guests from all over the worldwide Reggae Soundsystem Fraternity, at the Station in Kings Heath.

We pride ourselves on being a comfortable & inclusive place for everyone to enjoy the music & vibes of Jam Jah Sounds. 

As well as being an institution in South Birmingham, Jam Jah Sound performs at venues and festivals around the world.

Meet the Jam Jah Crew

MYKI TUFF

Myki Tuff grew up as a mic man on soundsystems in Birmingham, including Orthodox and Wassifa, earning him the title of best Midlands MC in the 90s. He was called to tour the world as a bass player, with the likes of Dennis Brown, Peter Spence, Tippa Irie and Elephant Man. In 2017, Myki took back the mic, joining Jam Jah Sound and Friendly Fire Band, and recording and releasing new music.

BONGO DAMO

Founding member of Jam Jah Sound, selecta Bongo Damo, is not only a DJ with a broad musical knowledge, he also plays percussion on the sound, teaches African drumming and drumkit and is  the Drummer for Friendly Fire Band as well as sessioning for many bands and producers..

ROBBIE DON

Robbie Don Aka Robin Giorno is the founder of Friendly Fire Music, playing the guitar for Friendly Fire Band as well producing their releases and Jam Jah’s remixes and dubplates from his Friendly Dubs studio. As well as a selecta and techie, he is the driving force behind Jam Jah Sound.
