Born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Vitória (Brazil), singer songwriter Jota 3 emerged from the vibrant Espírito Santo underground scene in the 1990s, establishing himself as one of the region's rap pioneers.
With a career rooted in authenticity and musical innovation, Jota 3 released three independent albums before the digital era, gaining national and international recognition through contributions to renowned compilations—including the soundtrack for the video game FIFA Street 2 in 2006.
His cosmopolitan character reflects his striking personality and visual identity, shaped by his time spent living between Brazil and Europe—particularly London and Birmingham. There, he immersed himself in local sound system and club culture, which profoundly influenced his music.
In 2016, Jota 3 released the acclaimed album Amplificado, a landmark release that cemented his status as a singular artist in the reggae/dub/dancehall scene. The record featured collaborations with Jamaican legends such as Sly & Robbie, alongside BNegão (Planet Hemp), solidifying his reputation within the Brazilian music industry.
On his return to Brazil, Jota 3 established himself as MC for Rio-based sound system Digitaldubs, performing on major national stages and at festivals such as Rock in Rio, Universo Paralello, and Circo Voador, where he maintained a commanding presence until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Currently based in São Paulo, the artist has just released a vinyl record of his smokiest hit, "Flores e Ervas" (feat. BNegão), featuring two exclusive remix tracks by UK dub icon Vibronics.
