Exodus Movement

Exodus Sound System was started in 1976 by members of Pendeford Youth Club from the Wobaston and Fordhouses area of Wolverhampton by the children and friends of Count Barley Sound, which was well known in Wolverhampton for playing parties, blues and dances since the sixties' Windrush generation.

Sir Coxsone Sound linked up with Count Barley Sound to organise and promote Reggae shows at Club 67 and others in Wolverhampton featuring Lloyd Coxsone, Blacka Dread, Festus and Natty ' Frontline" playing the original dubs of artists like Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs, Lee Perry Upsetters and many others.

Exodus is a Sound System of the Roots Reggae tradition following big Sounds like Coxsone, Jah Shaka, Fatman Hi Fi and local sounds Mafia Tone, Wassifa, Jungleman , King Alloy and others.

DJ Macka B started his musical journey with Exodus and sound system such as Unit One and others.

Exodus is the Movement who are the generation who have experienced the majority of our lives in the west , surviving and fighting to live better lives for our future .
